Integrity

Integrity is being and doing what you know is right with excellence.   To be a person of integrity is to be one who is undivided and undamaged.   What happens to me does not change my principles.   That which is right is right regardless of the immediate consequences.   I'm not divided on the issues.   I'm standing on solid ground. I'm neither double-minded nor unstable.   I'm not damaged on the inside and trying to present another picture. Nothing outside of me will determine who I am, I'm undamaged. What you see is not only what you get.   But what you see from me is what is in me, and what is in me is what's right. Wherever it's not right, I'm open to allow the Spirit of the Lord to change, as I cooperate with Him.   This is integrity.

The opposite of integrity is hypocrisy.   The late Doctor Freddie Dunn of the New Hope Baptist Church in New Orleans use to tell the story of the little country girl who understood this difference.   She would say:   a hypocrite is someone who makes like they is what they ain't. [A person of integrity is someone who is, what they say they is.]"

Hypocrisy is pretending to do the right thing when others are looking. Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is looking. Hypocrisy is being patient with your kids only to appear to be a good parent. Integrity is apologizing to your kids when you have been impatient with them.   Hypocrisy is when you choose to say to those in authority only the stuff that will not expose you.     Integrity is when you tell them the truth in the face of potential consequence.   Hypocrisy is being lukewarm.   Integrity is being hot or cold.   Hypocrisy is doing what others think is good, but is mediocre for you.   Integrity is when you do the best you can.    Hypocrisy is when you know to change in an area, but ignore it.   Integrity is to change what you know needs to change, with passion.    At Advance Church we choose integrity.   We are people of integrity.   We do what we know is right, with excellence.

We are godly leaders for the world.   That means we are called to be anointed and appointed leaders with integrity revolutionizing the culture.
