Integrity
But thanks be to God that we can leave them something that stands the test of time. We can leave them a legacy of integrity. Proverbs 20:7 tells us that when a just man walks in his integrity, his children are blessed. What are you passing to the next generation? What was passed to you?
Let me lead you in a prayer:
Oh God we thank you for the integrity of our forefathers. We renounce any lack of integrity our forefathers may have walked in. We ask that, by the blood of Jesus and the indwelling Holy Spirit, You would deliver us from evil. Deliver us from any and all forms of hypocrisy in spirit, word, or deed. We ask these things not only for our good, but so that the generations that follow us, will be blessed. The integrity that we walk in now, blesses the generations to come. The integrity that we walk in now, blesses the generations to come. AMEN.
Integrity is only realized at the point of temptation. That is, if everything is going the way you want it to go, you would have no need to focus on integrity. Integrity has its value at the moment of crisis. When crisis hits our lives what comes out of mouths, what we do with money, and how handle our private selves, makes the difference. Communication, money, and sex....
These are three places where we need integrity the most. Consider how Job demonstrated integrity in these areas.
