Labor and Enjoy
And hardworking farmers should be the
first to enjoy the fruit of their labor.
- II Timothy 2:6
Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest. - Ecclesiastes 11:4
Don't wait for the right time to work, start now on what God is saying.
Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. - James 5:7
After you have labored, endure with hope. Some things are in God's hands, like the rain, and He will come through.
The farmer sows the word. - Mark 4:14
The Word of God is the seed. Plant everywhere you expect increase. To plant the Word is to say the Word, think the Word, and do the Word.
Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.
- II Corinthians 9:6
Be generous in sharing the Word. Be generous with the other seeds of life - money, time, affection.
Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. - I Timothy 6:17b
God wants us to enjoy. You can declare this: God wants me to enjoy. After you have labored, after you have waited, and once the fruit comes, enjoy it. And ask God to help you enjoy the process, because the farmer's process is also the farmer's joy. This joy is driven by the expectation of good fruit.
Father give me the grace to be a hardworking farmer who enjoys the process and enjoys the fruit of my labor. Lord, my expectation is from You only. Show me how to sow the seed of Your Word today. Cause me to be fruitful as I labor for, and with, You. Thank You that You give me all things richly to enjoy.
