STIR UP The Gift of God
Why I put you in remembrance that you stir up the gift of God, which is in you by the putting on of my hands.

When holy men and women of God have prayed for us and laid their hands on us, eternal transactions were being conducted. Gifts were being activated. And they must be reactivated again and again. And this requires passion.
Only passion defeats passion.
We must not only match the passion of the ones throwing fiery darts, aiming to steal, kill and destroy. We can exceed their passion through continuously, actively yielding to the Holy Spirit and putting our spiritual gifts to use.
God call us to do everything with all our heart unto the Lord. (Colossians 3:23) The level of effort requires supernatural engagement. We can bring to bear all God has given us via the Holy Spirit and His gifts. This labor is not one of human will alone, but praying in the Holy Spirit until we know we are communing with the Father, sharpening our gifting through reading, meditation, and use. (I Timothy 4:13, Hebrews 5:14, Jude 1:20)
The gift of God is as it were a certain living flame kindled in our hearts, which the flesh and the devil go about to put out: and therefore we as their opponents must labour as much as we can to foster and keep it burning. - Geneva Study Bible
