Don’t put up with the spirit of fear.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. - II Timothy 1:7
Paul starts with God has not given us. Even though he is addressing Timothy and the timidity which wants to attach itself to him, Paul includes himself in the struggle. In effect, he is communicating to Timothy that he is not alone in this battle to dominate fear.
You’re not alone in your battle. One of the fiery darts of the devil is to get you to think no one understands or you are alone. Don’t take the dart. The spirit of fear attacks everyone. The key to overcoming is to recognize “God has not given us“ that spirit.
And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. - I John 4:17-18 (NLT)
We reject fear because we receive God. God is love and there is no “fear in love“. And since God is in you, you can boldly declare in the face of fear "God has not given you to me, therefore I reject you, spirit of fear." Ask the Lord to increase in you the fear of God, and you will recognize His infinite love, and the spirit of fear won’t have a chance. This rejection of fear must be active and passionate. Like fanning the flames of the gifts of the spirit, you must also fan the flame against the spirit of fear. But how?
Words.
Specifically, the word of God is the sword of the spirit and the sword of your spirit. When you experience fear, say something. Say the word. Say the word until you recognize that what you’re saying is actually who you are. Whatever you say increases, so speak against fear and declare the love of God.
